Carolyn Hirata is a lecturer and program chair in the Technological Entrepreneurship and Management Program at the Polytechnic School, one of the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University. She worked in industry at Motorola for 15 years, where she served as a Manufacturing Manager and Director of Human Resources.Professor Hirata is now committed to the advancement of entrepreneurship and innovation learning opportunities across the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering.

Richard Filley serves as lead social entrepreneurship faculty in the ‘Technology Entrepreneurship & Management (TEM)’ program in The Poly School within the Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University (ASU). In this role he teaches, mentors and advises entrepreneurial students and startups of all types, and has been pioneering innovative ways to teach entrepreneurship online to students located across the United States and around the world. At various points in his career, Filley has founded and led a technology-based startup (All About You), been a part of a team of inventors developing new patented products (Mountain Safety Research), been an entrepreneur creating new programs at ASU (including EPICS at ASU, ASU Corporate Leaders Program, and the Global Futures Initiative) and mentoring and launching new social entrepreneurship ventures.
